coolest president ever

According to the Bureau, 330 US drone strikes (278 of them under Obama) have so far killed at least 2,500 people in Pakistan… Now Pakistan condemns every attack as being ‘in total contravention of international law’. The US simply ignores its ‘ally’… With his feet barely under the Oval Office table, President Obama authorised two drone strikes on January 23 2009. Both missed their intended targets. At least 15 civilians reportedly died on that day alone… On numerous other occasions, US drones have deliberately targeted rescuers trying to retrieve the dead and injured from previous drone strikes… Obama has radically expanded the covert drone war, drawing in ever more countries.

congratulations to everyone who’s been sucked in by the persona of barack obama, carefully arranged by his media and PR team. spin wears pop culture and humour

I think it’s too simplistic to see Obama’s personality as stage managed. I think it’s genuine. Which makes his inhumane, horrendous actions all the more frightening and interesting.

Amélie has a strange feeling of absolute harmony. It’s a perfect moment. A soft light, a scent in the air, the quiet murmur of the city. A surge of love, an urge to help mankind overcomes her.

“In his project Skindeep, French photographer Julien Palast studies the body and the human form in a very unique way. Generally an advertising and still life photographer, Palast went in a new direction with this portrait series. For each image, he wrapped male and female models in vibrant colors and gradients that created what he describes as “instant bas reliefs recalling of the classic imagery.”

Thus ends the Thing That Is Driving Me Crazy of 2013.
It was slowly destroying me not knowing where I had seen that kid before.
What’s Google.
Also, some of these blew my mind.
Thanks, Laughing Squid.

Oh, Gilly is Cassie from Skins!

THE GERMANS

YOU SCARED THE GERMANS

I did not know about the face thing.

That is ungood news.

This is ridiculous. The Germans are acutely sensitive to the potential for surveillance, which makes perfect sense given their, history. You can’t use them in a “well if they’re worried our must be bad” way.

Not to mention of course that there’s at least as much awesome potential as scary potential, or that (unlike, say, government surveillance) you can avoid the issue by simply not buying one.
