Actually butterflies have a nearly 360 degree range of vision, can see a broader spectrum of color than humans and use wing color in courtship rituals. Technically they not only see their own wings, but their wings are far more vivid and far more important to them than they could ever possibly be to any other species.

Canberra really is beautiful before dawn. Every wet from last night’s rain, gleaming orange in the street lights; the cloud cover taking the usual chill out of the morning; deserted suburban streets; kangaroos hanging out on the bike paths.

And now I’m sitting at my desk, watching the sun gradually rise, turning that cloud cover shades of pink and orange.

My Gerber Dime arrived today. I was after a multitool that was a bit smaller than my SAK, preferably with pliers. The Dime looked good on paper: in person it’s better than I expected. Tiny, light, well made. Easily small enough to live permanently on my keyring. Looks pretty nice too.

Fast 5 was far better than it had any right to be. And it would have made a good heist movie without any of the F&F franchise trappings. So, I’ve been excited about Fast & Furious 6 since the first rumblings of it were announced. And this final trailer for it, along a great Prodigy remix, really, really makes me want to see it.

I should point out I like Crank: High Voltage more than you probably would, so factor that into how you weight my film recommendations.

(Also, it is out now in Europe, out in the US next week and won’t come to Australia until June.)

This looks excellent. I’ve got a massive soft spot for the F&F franchise.
